Choose limits or activity

Add AI Limits or AI Activity from the widget library’s AI category. Existing AI Usage widgets keep their settings.

AI Limits shows remaining allowance and reset times. Choose Numbers, Rings, or Bars. In Customize, select a provider and enable Show to include it. You can turn every provider off. Order the providers, select a Color (Default, Brand, or a preset), and choose Remaining or Used, the limit shown in the Dock, and which limits appear in the popout. The Dock shows up to three providers; the popout includes every selected provider.

AI Activity shows token history as a Sparkline, Bars, or Totals. Choose Codex, Claude, Cursor, or Grok independently of allowance availability. The provider menu lists all supported sources, including ones you have not installed. Gemini, Copilot, and Antigravity CLI support limits only.

Set up a provider

In AI Limits, open Customize, select a provider, and enable Show to see its setup instructions. When no usage is available, Configure usage opens setup. Use the refresh button after signing in. New Limits widgets start with Codex, Claude, and Grok; enable Cursor, Gemini, Copilot, and Antigravity explicitly.

Connections are shared across AI widgets. Unchecking Show Claude stops account polling and its Desktop fallback, and removes any existing Dockset status-line bridge. Unchecking Show Antigravity disconnects its status-line bridge. Other providers’ Show controls change what the widget displays. These controls do not sign you out of the provider. Browsing the widget library uses sample data and does not connect accounts.

Codex and your ChatGPT login

Sign in to the Codex app with your ChatGPT account, or install the Codex CLI and run codex login in Terminal. Dockset detects the Codex app’s bundled CLI and common CLI installations.

Dockset reads the subscription limits reported for that login, including the available five-hour and weekly windows. It does not start a task or use model tokens. API-key logins do not expose these subscription limits. Installing or signing in to ChatGPT alone does not configure Dockset’s connection; use Codex with the same ChatGPT account.

Codex activity comes from session logs on this Mac. It is separate from the account allowance and does not count all ChatGPT conversations.

Claude

1. Sign in to Claude Desktop or Claude Code.
2. In AI Limits customization, select Claude and enable Show Claude.
3. For Claude Code, Dockset reads your existing Keychain login and checks limits every two minutes, even without a running terminal session. If the login expires, open Claude Code to renew it. Terminal status-line updates also supply limits.
4. For Claude Desktop, click refresh. Desktop is the fallback when the Claude Code account request fails. If macOS asks, allow access to Claude Safe Storage in Keychain.

Connecting enables account polling and the Desktop fallback. When possible, it also installs a status-line hook while preserving your existing command. CLI setup failures, or changing or disabling the status line, do not stop account polling. Existing Dockset hooks continue to supply usage. Claude Code does not supply limits for every account or session. The Desktop fallback reads the active organization’s five-hour, weekly, and model-specific limits. Empty status-line updates preserve the last reading and its timestamp; expired or unreadable CLI data cannot block Desktop refreshes. Background refreshes never show Keychain permission prompts.

Unchecking Show Claude stops account polling and the Desktop fallback. If a Dockset status-line hook is installed, it is removed and the previous command restored if it has not changed. It does not sign you out of Claude. Local Claude Code activity does not require this allowance connection.

Grok

Install Grok CLI, run grok login in Terminal, then refresh in Dockset. Limits show the included weekly or monthly allowance through the existing CLI login, without sending a prompt. Purchased credits and on-demand spending are not part of that percentage.

Grok Activity reads local session summaries from ~/.grok/sessions. Est. tokens combines saved context and pre-compaction totals. Each session is grouped under its file’s last update date, so these are not precise daily consumption figures. Updating an older session moves its whole estimate to the new day. Grok does not report tool counts or costs here.

Cursor

Sign in to Cursor on this Mac. Enable Cursor in AI Limits, or select it in AI Activity, then refresh. Dockset uses Cursor’s existing local login; no CodexBar installation or separate browser connection is needed.

Limits show the reported personal allowance. Activity is account-wide, with daily tokens, request counts, and reported API token costs in USD. Requests are not sessions or tool calls. Reported cost can differ from the amount billed by Cursor. Missing token or cost details are marked with ≥ for a partial total, or a dash when unavailable.

Gemini CLI

Sign in to Gemini CLI with a supported Google account, then enable Gemini in AI Limits. API-key and Vertex AI configurations are not supported by this reader. If the login has expired, open Gemini CLI to refresh it, then refresh in Dockset. Gemini does not currently provide activity history in Dockset.

GitHub Copilot

Install GitHub CLI and run gh auth login with the GitHub account that has Copilot. Enable Copilot in AI Limits and refresh. Dockset reads the quotas and credits GitHub reports through that login. Unlimited or absent allowances do not become invented percentages. Copilot does not currently provide activity history in Dockset.

Antigravity CLI

Sign in with agy in Terminal, enable Show Antigravity in AI Limits, reopen the CLI, then run /usage. Dockset receives quota percentages and reset times through Antigravity’s status-line feed. This is separate from Gemini CLI and does not provide AI Activity history.

Updates require Antigravity CLI to be running with its status line enabled. If limits stop updating, reopen the CLI and run /usage; a disabled or overridden status line prevents reports. Refresh rereads the latest report; it does not fetch new limits itself. Existing status-line commands are preserved, and the built-in line stays visible when there is no custom command. Unchecking Show removes the bridge and restores previous settings. Dockset caches only allowance windows, plan, and update time; it does not read Antigravity credentials or retain workspace and transcript data.

Read activity and date ranges

Choose Today, Last 7 days (L7), Last 30 days (L30), or This month (MTD). L7 and L30 include today. MTD begins at local midnight on the first of the month. Today keeps a seven-day chart for context, labeled separately from the total.

Codex and Claude count local sessions, recorded tool calls, and tokens, including cached tokens. Sessions count once across the selected range. Cursor shows account-wide requests and costs; Grok shows local session estimates. Open the popout for the source description and any partial-data warning.

Refreshes, missing values, and privacy

Codex and Grok limits refresh once a minute while the integration is active. Claude account limits refresh every two minutes, with Desktop as fallback. Claude Code and Antigravity CLI also update when they send status-line data. Cursor, Gemini, and Copilot refresh at most every five minutes automatically; use refresh for an immediate check.

Background refreshes keep the provider name and existing percentage visible. Updating… appears only when there is no usable value yet.

Local activity is checked once a minute. Cursor activity refreshes with its connection. Switching date ranges uses the history already loaded. Last-known Codex limits remain visible during temporary failures, with their original update time. Other providers can clear failed or expired readings. Passing a reset time never makes Dockset assume your allowance is full again.

A dash means a value is unavailable, not zero. Open the widget for the provider’s error or setup instructions. If Claude is missing, check its Desktop login and use refresh to allow Keychain access if needed.

Local activity caches contain counters and identifiers, not prompts or tool contents. Cursor history stays in memory. Provider credentials are used only for their own service and are not saved or logged by Dockset. Dockset does not change your provider login or refresh expired Gemini credentials for you.
