Troubleshooting
Quick checks for a missing Dock, widget permissions, or an integration that won’t connect.

Why can’t I see widgets?
Widgets are only available in Custom Docks. If your setup is macOS Dock only, Dockset manages Apple’s Dock, which cannot display Dockset widgets.
- Open Manage Docks… from Dockset’s menu bar icon.
- Select a Custom Dock profile. If you do not have one, open the profile selector and choose New profile → Custom Dock.
- Use the editor’s add menu and choose Widget… to add a widget.
- Open Settings → Dock setup and choose Both to keep Apple’s Dock alongside your widgets, or Custom Dock + auto-hide macOS Dock.
- Under Custom Dock, select the profile you added the widget to.
If the Dock is still hidden, check its Display and Position. With Automatically hide enabled, move the pointer to that screen edge. With Use as desktop widget enabled, the Dock stays behind app windows. Hide when macOS Dock appears also temporarily hides it when Apple’s Dock appears on the same edge.
Dockset has its own widget library. Apple’s desktop widgets and third-party WidgetKit widgets cannot be added. If a widget is visible but has no data, open it to finish setup or check the permission and connection help below.
See the full apps and widgets guide.
My Custom Dock is missing
- Open Dockset and check its menu bar icon.
- In Settings, check that Dock setup includes the Custom Dock and a custom profile is selected.
- Check the selected display and screen edge. If auto-hide is enabled, move the pointer to that edge.
Compare the available Dock setups.
Calendar or Reminders cannot show my data
Open the widget and allow access when macOS asks. If you previously denied it, open System Settings → Privacy & Security, find Calendar or Reminders, and allow Dockset access. Return to the widget and check its selected calendars or lists.
Permissions are separate for each feature. App badges use Accessibility access; optional smooth switching uses Screen Recording. Grant the permission requested by the feature you want to use.
See Calendar and Reminders setup for selecting calendars and lists, or Now Playing connection help for music controls.
A business widget won’t connect
Check the exact credentials and permissions for your provider:
Check your internet connection and whether a key has expired or been revoked. Live and sandbox accounts contain different data. Never paste your keys into this website or a support message.
The widget shows old or unexpected numbers
Use the widget’s Refresh control and look for an error or last-updated time. If a refresh fails, the last successful values can remain visible. Check the account, metric, date range, currency, and time zone before comparing with a provider’s dashboard. Each integration guide explains its definitions.
For AI Usage, check how each provider updates. Claude usage may stay unchanged until Claude Code sends another status-line update.
The Dock is not transparent
Choose Liquid Glass and Clear, then check macOS display accessibility settings. Follow the transparency checks.
Still stuck?
Contact support with what you expected, what happened, the exact error, and your macOS and Dockset versions. Include a screenshot if it helps, with account secrets and license keys hidden.
